For a holiday gifting idea that will certainly make any child thrilled, whether girl or boy, is a Melissa & Doug Train Table from Gummy Lump. And, what a perfect item to feature in the Holiday Gift Guide at My Organized Chaos, since my kids are nuts over trains and train sets! The twins, especially, have a huge fascination with trains and run to them like magnets whenever they see one.
Gummy Lump, a company devoted to providing only the highest quality and most unique wooden toys for children ages 0-6 years old, also has a large selection of the popular Melissa & Doug toys. One being the Melissa & Doug Train Table and Swivel Bridge Wooden Train Set which we got for review. The Train Table came in one massive box, and unless you needn’t move it far, I’d suggest getting help with this box.
Assembly of the Train Table: Inside were many parts, yet Melissa & Doughas the best building plans ever! Each piece is numbered and the step-by-step instructions could not have been clearer. I assembled the Train Table by myself, in no time. Yet keep in mind there are only the exact pieces which you need – so don’t lose even one screw! The Melissa & Doug Train Table is quite big in size, and is very solid and sturdy. It has a great drawer too, to fit all those train accessories! I am very pleased with the quality of this table!
The Swivel Bridge Wooden Train Setis a complete set that can be used with the train table or on it’s own. It includes over 45 pieces, even 3 cars, little wooden people and trees, a covered bridge and a swivel bridge! And, it’s a perfect train set for this train table, don’t you agree? The train table and this train set are both intended for ages 3 and up. They really do provide countless hours of fun for kids, and is a toy that will entertain much longer than some others. We had a smaller train set before this one came into our house, and though the kids played with it nicely on the floor – I always found pieces everywhere! Not to mention the ones you step on in the night {ouch!}. Now, the pieces alwasy stay on the table, providing more a tidier and safer environment. The Melissa & Doug Train Table is big enough for all the kids to stand around comfortably, without fighting over space. And, even though it’s one big track, they rarely come to crossroads when one of their train cars is in the way of another. It’s a long-standing joke in my family that my Husband is going to get a conductor hat from Santa this year. Oh yes, many ages of children and adults alike will enjoy this toy!
Gummy Lump carries all sorts of wooden toys from puzzle to doll houses and play kitchens. The prices are great and Gummy Lump offers free ground shipping too! The train table and train set mentioned above is on sale right now as well. As well, there are items for every budget! When shopping, browse by category, age, brand and more – Gummy Lump carries all the great brands under one organized and efficient roof. I wonder if Santa’s Toy Shop is this organized and thorough?
