Blablacontinues to be a leader in producing quality, hand knit toys and clothing for our children.  We featured their bird rattles last year and have continued to follow blabla’s progress.  I adore my daughter’s collection as much as she does, I think.  Everything crafted by blabla is so soft to the touch, yet stands up to your active kids.  Their products are handmade in Peru using handpicked cotton.  It can’t get any more natural than that.  The artisan quality is obvious to see, and is much appreciated by parents around the world.
I tried out the clothing for the first time, honing in on the Sand Bretagne Sweater, a beautiful three-button cardigan sweater.  The colors are gorgeous and I love the contrasting trim.  It has that hand knit, soft quality feel, but is also thick and warm.  My daughter usually has some trouble with buttons but these are large enough for her to handle on her own, encouraging her self-dressing further.  This sweater has been perfect for our “cold” weather, as it creates warmth, but allows circulation.  I definitely recommend this style for days between 50-75 degrees (ideal for upcoming spring).  Blabla offers many more sweater styles for girls and boys, from vest to hooded cardigans.
005 682x1024 hand knits, from sweaters to dolls {blabla} + giveawayErin: I’ve always been a fan of blabla, I mean, how can you not be? My daughter is picky, especially with her dolls. In fact, I’ve never really given her many since all they seem to do is sit at the bottom of her toy box. Kinda funny because she’d always say to me that she wanted a doll with purple hair. Not sure if you noticed the dolls on the market, but that’s not an easy thing to find…unless you see blabla’s dolls, especiallyViolet, the purple haired doll. I was going to try and sneak Violet under the Christmas tree this year, knowing how much she was going to love her. Somehow, my daughter caught a glimpse of her a week before the big day hidden (apparently not very well) and I remember several loud gasps, lots of jumping up and down and squealing noises from her direction.
My first impression is that for being a “mini” doll, it’s actually a really good size (you can see how big it actually is in the photo with my daughter). Second thing was how incredibly soft it is. That’s one of the wonderful traits of blabla, soft, premium quality and vibrant/fun colors. Violet sleeps with her, watches movies with her, runs errands with us. There’s pretty much nothing Violet doesn’t do. It’s great because when she falls asleep with her, it’s another comfy pillow, versus the harder plastic dolls. Here’s a good comparison for all you parents out there wondering how much exactly your child will love this doll. My daughter and I created her very own custom American Girl doll for Christmas this year. She was pulled out of the box on Christmas day, and that’s pretty much all that’s happened with her. Violet, however, is her baby that she refuses to sleep without. She’s begged to be able to take her to school, but that’s one thing I have to say no to. I’m afraid one of the other kids will steal her! I know, I’m worried about my daughter’s toys. It’s weird…but true. Now, my only regret is spending all that money on an American Girl doll when I could’ve just gotten her more blabla dolls. Lesson learned. Looking forward to her birthday now!
